One of New York’s distinguished interior designers, Amy Lau of her namesake firm, will design the installation with acclaimed paper artist, Jo Lynn Alcorn. The Kips Bay installation, which will be presented in mid-April, will showcase the experimental and artistic spirit that defines the Maya Romanoff Corporation. The company is known for transforming modern design by combining ancient artistic techniques with the latest in production technology, while maintaining an unwavering regard for the environment. The Maya Romanoff Corporation was the first to experiment with glass with the introduction of the Beadazzled™-the flexible glass beaded wall covering that earned a permanent place in the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. “On the eve of our 40th anniversary, we are proud to celebrate the vision and dreams of talented designers and artists,” says Joyce Romanoff, President of Maya Romanoff Corporation. “Over the years, we’ve helped clients create beautiful environments with wallcoverings and materials, using classic solutions and a forward-thinking approach. The secret of our success is in our continued pursuit of excellence, our meticulous view of the design landscape and an essential love for materials.” WHAT: The Show House is presented at its most stunning location yet, a double wide townhouse at 22 East 71st Street in Manhattan. Together, the design team will present Maya Romanoff wall coverings in a three-dimensional artistic display transforming the core of the structure - a spiral staircase leading upwards to a picturesque skylight. Specific Maya Romanoff designs that will be part of this special project are: Wall Mica™, Remember Paris™, Weathered Walls™, and Grecian Crystal™. The visually inspiring staircase installation will run from the second to the third floor. WHEN: Opening Night Cocktails: April 16, 2009, 6-8pm
